Cumming-Forsyth County Local Manager

This position is responsible for serving as the principal Georgia Power representative in the City of Cumming and greater Forsyth County. The successful candidate must have a good understanding of Georgia Power’s business development initiatives and strategic direction and must be capable of clearly communicating that information to community leaders, stakeholders and customers. This individual is required to generate sales leads and attend meetings out of town and after normal working hours. The Local Manager will be involved in power delivery restoration efforts which could require overnight travel and availability during nights, weekends and holidays. The Local Manager is also expected to assist Customer Service with collections and other customer service activities in the assigned area. The successful candidate will be required to live within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned area. (Relocation assistance is not available for this position).

Summary of Position Duties:

This Local Manager will work closely with our corporate and functional partners to utilize resources to maximize our external effectiveness in the community including Sales, Customer Choice, Economic Development, Transmission, Distribution, Customer Service and External Affairs. The Local Manager must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with community leaders and elected officials. The successful candidate must be able to effectively balance the need to serve on multiple boards and committees simultaneously in different counties (e.g., Development Authority, Chamber Boards, Rotary, Kiwanis).

Job Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred

  • Proven experience in building and maintaining influential relationships with key local community organizations, government agencies, local media outlets and legislative contacts is desired, previous community board/committee service preferred.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of Customer Service, Distribution, Transmission, Economic Development, Sales

  • Broad knowledge of power delivery operations - trouble restoration experience is preferred

  • Understanding of Sales initiatives

  • Supervisory experience

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Understands company issues and ability to communicate these issues to others

  • General knowledge and understanding of safety, sales, distribution, transmission, R/W issues, customer service and external affairs is desired

  • Ability to work closely with our region and corporate partners to utilize resources (e.g., 426, Foundation, Volunteer time) to maximize our external effectiveness

  • Strong work ethic with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
