Document Coordinator
Job Summary:
** The position is located at Georgia Power Company’s corporate office at 241 Ralph McGill Blvd, Atlanta, Georgia and is subject to the company’s hybrid work policy requiring you to be IN THE OFFICE a minimum of three (3) days per week and/or as required/necessary.
The primary responsibility of the Document Coordinator is to record easements, deeds, leases, and other agreements documenting Georgia Power’s acquisition of property rights.
The Document Coordinator is also responsible for writing and issuing checks and Zelle payments, researching property records, updating LIMS records and spreadsheets, coordinating with acquisition agents and coordinators (employees and contractors), communicating with county clerk offices, and providing general assistance to the Land Acquisition team.
Education Requirements:
A high school diploma is required ; a college degree is preferred.
Experience Requirements:
1-3 years of administrative experience required
Real Estate experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
General understanding of real estate, various real estate documents, and the recording requirements of same in various Georgia counties
Comprehensive knowledge of Southern Company computer systems and software, particularly LIMS 2.0
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent time management skills
Organized and detail-oriented, with extensive research experience and the ability to meet hard deadlines
Knowledge of software platforms and websites such as LIMS, GSCCCA, and PowerBI
Self-starter with the ability to work largely independently with occasional supervision, guidance, and support
Major Job Responsibilities:
Review executed documents submitted for recording and communicate with agents and coordinators about errors and necessary corrections
Ensure all documents are timely e-filed, recorded in various counties, and properly uploaded into the company’s database
Review Offer Approval Forms, seek necessary approvals, and issue checks and/or Zelle payments to property owners
Research property records to confirm ownership of property rights in GPC records and online
Update LIMS records to reflect deed book/page information for recorded documents
Update spreadsheets to accurately reflect status of all recordings and communicate this information with acquisition agents, acquisition coordinators (employees and contractors), and GPC business partners
Provide general assistance to the Land Acquisition team
Participate in Public Information Meetings and assist with Special Master Hearings on an as-needed basis
