Energy Efficiency Support Representative


Job Summary

The Energy Efficiency Support Representative exists to analytically support the Company’s strategic objective of implementing the energy efficiency programs certified by the Georgia Public Service Commission (“GPSC”) as demand-side management (“DSM”) resources. The GPSC has placed energy savings target goals on these programs with the opportunity for the Company to achieve a significant financial incentive. The Support Representative provides direct support of multiple Energy Efficiency Program Managers throughout the stages of implementing a broad range of energy savings activities to the benefit of the customers of Georgia Power. This position helps track energy reduction and demand reductions that result from these programs to help the company meet its energy efficiency targets. Support of various other initiatives will also be expected in this position to attain a high level of customer satisfaction that will contribute towards meeting DSM participation targets.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Undergraduate degree preferred

  • Travel in-state (GPC region partners) and nationally as required

  • General understanding of Company’s operations, Regulatory environment, policies, and procedures

  • Understanding of Energy Efficiency Marketing campaign strategies, evaluation methods, tactics and concepts including marketing campaign analytics, ongoing program awareness, participation rates

  • Understanding of Regulatory program incentives, administrative costs and marketing campaign budget indicators

  • Ability to function independently, self-directed and effectively in a fast paced, continuously changing and highly stressful environment is required

  • Ability to think analytically to understand how to gather, interpret and apply findings aimed at effective program implementation to meet specific targets

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well within a team environment to build coalitions, engage & influence others, and potentially lead cross functional teams

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to effectively communicate with others at all knowledge and position levels

  • Demonstrated sense of urgency, proactive, results oriented, strong planning and coordination skills are a must

  • Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft software

  • Possess a service attitude; anticipate and respond promptly to stakeholder and customer needs

  • Direct customer interface or previous sales experience preferred

  • Knowledge of Georgia Power’s Rates, Rules, and Regulations preferred

  • Georgia Power Customer Service System (CSS) experience preferred

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Energy efficiency Program Manager to implement a portfolio of Commercial or Residential Energy Efficiency Programs, and their lifecycle with annual budget expectations based on GPSC-mandated targets

  • Develop and manage processes that will inform program managers of goal performance and key indicators and customer feedback

  • Work in tandem with the Energy Efficiency Reporting Team to track and report statewide program metrics (participation levels, energy and demand savings, program costs, etc.)

  • Assist with Marketing campaign development and execution across all programs along with marketing campaign projections and metrics

  • Maintaining and distributing program informational brochures and flyers, maintaining program material inventories

  • Updating website and other marketing collateral

  • Interface with program contractors and vendors to assure proper reporting is occurring

  • Support Implementation managers with special projects and pilot efforts

  • Respond to ad hoc internal, customer, and contractor requests for program information and assistance

  • Assist with region and community energy efficiency events and demonstrations

  • Coordinate and plan internal and external meetings and events

  • Produce weekly and monthly performance reports and projections to internal/external stakeholders using Power BI Dashboards, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Participate in internal and external activities and event marketing to drive company program, products and services awareness with key allies and customers

  • IRP Development – support in the strategy and development of the DSM plan as part of the IRP filing developed every three years. Manage any interim updates within the three-year period
