This position will be located at Forest Park General Services Complex in Atlanta, GA and will support multiple company locations within the metro-Atlanta area.
JOB SUMMARY
Excellent opportunity for an HR professional with strong HR Business Partner experience to join Southern Company, one of the largest and most respected utilities in the nation. We are actively seeking an individual with the ability to be a strategic business partner working within our Southern Company Services’ HR Delivery team to explore, identify, and recommend human resources solutions. This position offers broad and strategic consulting in organizational effectiveness, employee development, employee relations, compensation, employee engagement, employment law and regulations, and talent acquisition The successful candidate will have a solid background in human resources, with demonstrated ability consulting internally with multiple levels of management, facilitating high-level discussions, supporting employee development, and managing human resources projects, programs, and company initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Consult with customers in a manner that is reflective of Human Resources organization’s strategy is effectively executed.
Partner with leadership to develop strategies to create an environment of inclusion, respect and fairness and leverage the unique backgrounds and characteristics of all employees.
Ensure successful implementation and delivery of Human Resources products and services to customers.
Partner with management and talent acquisition on strategic staffing and projecting the workforce needed to meet current and future business objectives.
Maintain knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends.
Provide expert advice and coaching as appropriate.
Act as a liaison between the business and HR to ensure that HR services are aligned with internal customer needs.
Identify new opportunities for HR to add value to the business.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field preferred
Job Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in multiple human resources disciplines working with a broad range of employees preferred.
Experience within a company serving in an HR business partner consulting role partnering with the business, including senior management, is preferred.
Prior experience with strategic staffing, workforce planning, HR project management and change management preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be able to partner with all levels of management by influencing, effectively building relationships, facilitating discussions, offering objective solutions, and demonstrating a flexible and adaptable approach to consulting services
Ability to identify new ways for HR to support the business strategy
Broad knowledge of HR disciplines such as talent management, strategic staffing, workforce planning, employee relations, compensation, employee development, organizational effectiveness, employment law and compliance, and diversity, equity and inclusion consulting with an understanding of their application in solving customer issues
Ability to use analytical skills to identify and recognize trends from data analysis and translate into recommendations for action
Ability to diplomatically offer objective and creative solutions to customer issues

A flexible and adaptable approach to consulting with the ability to consult with multiple customer groups
Critical thinking, facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills; listening, oral, written, and presentation
