Job Summary
The Manager, Integration, Compliance, Gas Ops, GIS Applications position within Gas Technology Services will have overall responsibility for leading teams of analysts and developers. The analyst group will be responsible for the support of projects for Integrations (BizTalk/MQ), Compliance, Gas Operations, and GIS applications. This will include refinement of requirements for projects/enhancements; creation of functional and technical design documents; and production support analysis for custom applications as well as COTS applications. The development group will support the same applications with the addition of supporting development for Field Applications. The development group will have a dotted line to the Manager, Field applications.
Manager – Essential Duties Include
Serve as management level interface between groups within Gas Technology Services
Manage relationships with external vendor partners to deliver projects, resources, and production support where necessary. This includes ensuring the proper level of resourcing is provided and agreed upon in advance, vendor additions/terminations are processed as needed, changes to vendor staff are tracked, SLA/SLEs are being met by vendors, quality levels for code and analysis are met by vendors, vendors are following the Gas Technology Services processes and procedures, and any discrepancies are dealt with immediately. Ensure SOWs are accurate when written and followed once approved.
Provide direction to Supervisors to ensure resources are on-hand and effectively utilized; maintaining the ability to ‘flex’ to meet customer demands; ensure a proper resource plan is kept and ensure work is being performed based on priority
Collaborate and negotiate work assignments for the team to ensure project expectations can be met
Take a leadership role in ensuring Analyst and Development strategies are in alignment with Technology Organization goals and strategies
Provide support to the Supervisors for day-to-day activities
Ensure SLA/SLEs are being met and customer satisfaction scores for Gas Technology Service meet our goals; ensure Remedy tickets are properly updated and communication to incident reporters is accurate and timely
Performance management for the supervisory, including performance appraisals, mentoring, coaching as well as ensuring Supervisors are providing excellent performance management to the staff
Attract, develop, retain and manage a diverse group of supervisory and technical individual contributors.
Lead, motivate and develop employees; effectively plan and manage projects; apply strong oral and written communication skills; apply strong customer service and negotiating skills; exhibit initiative, and follow through with customer commitments; and apply sound performance techniques
Considerable interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively is essential
Facilitate technical guidance and direction to software development teams; including developers, contractors, and vendors
Provide budgetary oversight. Manage the budget for this particular area, ensure time is properly reported for both internal and external team members, ensure invoices are properly coded and approved in a timely manner, identify areas for savings throughout the year.
Develop, maintain, and manage comprehensive work plans, work prioritization, and delivery on project commitments
Contribute strategic thinking related to how the Gas Technology Application group contributes to and supports the Gas Technology Organization
Implement and maintain production support processes focused on identification and mitigation of root cause
Skills/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or a related field
A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
Ability to handle multiple assignments and conflicting priorities
Ability to work with business partners and peers of varying levels of technical proficiency
Interest in and passion for learning and working in a fast-paced environment
Experience with large scale project development, enhancement projects and production support
Ability to identify root cause as well as mitigation required
Comprehensive, recognized leadership skills that build relationships and develop a team atmosphere
Knowledge of software development technologies, various software languages, methodology and tools
Experience with Agile delivery; Kanban; Scrum, DevOps tools
Experience as a multi-tier software developer a plus
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills(Oral and written)
Strong ITIL Foundation
Languages: BizTalk, .NET, Java, Java Script/TypeScript, Python, C/C#/C , JSON, HTML, CSS, Perl, Scala, SQL skills
Frameworks: Xamarin, .NET Core/.NET Framework, Apigee, Windows communication Framework, Web API, Entity Framework, Jquery, Angular, Telerik Kendo Framework, MVC, Asp.net, Winforms
