Southern Company Project Manager-Controls in Atlanta, Georgia

Description

Are you energized by teamwork, traveling to new places, and working on large scale projects? We are hiring a Project Manager-Controls for our Energy Efficiency Service team. Applicant must have direct experience with building automation systems & controls. This position will be based out of Georgia and will travel. Specifically, we are seeking a Project Manager who can manage the schedule, project costs, internal manpower, subcontractors, and onsite day to day activities associated with EES Mechanical & Electrical projects. We need someone who has experience managing controls (Building Automation Controls) projects from development to implementation of the solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing commercial and / or industrial construction projects.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing Building Control Systems projects

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing Building Automation projects

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing Building Control System Integration Projects

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Distech, JCI (Metasys & FX) or Honeywell (Niagara) or similar controls systems

  • Prior experience supervising teams preferred

  • Driver’s license

  • Previous experience as a controls technician, electrician, pipe fitter or sheet metal installer

  • OSHA 30 Training a plus

  • Ability to travel

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations manual, and written directions.

  • Ability to write reports and document day to day activities.

  • Ability to walk the site with team and subcontractors

  • Ability to receive deliveries onsite.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of general construction, HVAC and electrical installations.

  • Thorough knowledge of multiple building controls systems

  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint software programs.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Thorough knowledge and ability to read and interpret construction drawings

Essential Functions:

  • Deliver daily, weekly and monthly project schedules to customer

  • Create project budget and work within budgeted amounts associated with each task of the project

  • Review day to day tasks with onsite team and keep them on track with the project schedule

  • Perform daily walkthrough of site to ensure quality control of installed items

  • Provide weekly updates on progression of project to management.

  • Document any and all deviations from project schedule.
