Administrative Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

The Administrative Assistant position described in this job summary is assigned to Performance and Reliability Department. Responsibilities include general administrative support including, but not limited to the following:

  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment

  • Performing various administrative office duties including maintaining office supplies, filing, coordinating meetings and events, managing travel arrangements, coordinating office relocations, creating and tracking project correspondence and performing miscellaneous assignments as directed

  • Highly professional and responsive in all interactions with managers and staff. Must be very flexible to support emergent work requirements.

  • Ensuring adherence to applicable Southern Company administrative, accounting and compliance procedures.

  • Perform timekeeping and process employee expense reports for personnel

  • Schedule and coordinate logistics for meetings and department events

  • Gather data, compile information and prepare reports

  • Maintain departmental record retention

Job Experience & Education :

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Two-year degree or vocational school/certification is preferred.

  • Three to Five years administrative experience is required.

  • Oracle, or other people management software experience is preferred

  • Extensive experience in administrative support including conference, travel and meeting arrangements, report preparation and calendar management is required.

  • Accounts Payable experience is preferred.

  • Experience with timekeeping systems is preferred.

  • Extensive computer experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

  • Capacity to properly manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.

  • Detail oriented and multi-tasking ability.

  • Ability to interact well with all levels of employees and management.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
