The position will be located at the Energy Center in Birmingham, AL


This position will lead the data analytics team for the Technical and Project Solutions (T&PS), Project Controls department. The primary focus of this role will be to implement the strategic direction of data analytics for the continuous improvement of Project Controls and to support a long term data analytics strategy for T&PS.


  1. Customer Relations: Serves as interface for Project Controls with our stakeholders and customers for data analytics support. Implement a communication and continuous improvement plan that fosters a customer based focus within the team.

  2. Innovative Thinking: Proactively look for opportunities to streamline and automate data analytics to increase process efficiency and accuracy. Drive towards a culture of predictive analytics to support continuous improvement of Project Controls.

  3. Technology Expertise: Actively participate in internal and industry user groups to stay abreast of latest visualization tools and analytics techniques. Look for ways to continually develop the team experience and knowledge in data analytics.

  4. Performance Management: Supervises and manages daily activities of a team of non-exempt direct reports. Achieves superior business results across a diverse workgroup. Motivates employees to exhibit Our Values in all areas by personal example. Communicates strategic plans to ensure understanding and shared vision.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Technical, or Business field is preferred

  • Prior leadership experience (formal or informal) in a project or personnel capacity is required

  • Experience supervising a team, setting priorities, managing resources, and putting strategic objectives into place is strongly preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Experience with data management techniques to access, integrate, analyze and visualize data from multiple sources is required

  • Working experience with Tableau, PowerBi, or similar reporting and visualization program is highly desired

  • In-depth knowledge of data management techniques along with knowledge of project controls methods, procedures, and tools preferred

  • Knowledge of construction and engineering productivity/earned value processes preferred.

  • Experience with financial and/or accounting tools and processes required

  • Innovative learner with the ability to bring fresh ideas to the team
