Nuc Technical Specialist (Quality Control) - Plant Farley
Job Summary
The position is in the Engineering Support Department and will report to the Plant Support Manager at Plant Farley near Dothan, AL. The candidate selected for this position shall have a working knowledge of applicable American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) code and ANSI standards with in-depth knowledge of nondestructive examinations. This position requires planning and performing inspections as well as evaluating inspection results including preparation and setup of test equipment. The candidate is expected to take a leadership role in training less experienced personnel and coordinating inspection contractor personnel during outages.
Education Requirements
High School diploma required.
Associate or higher degree in relevant field preferred.
Technical training in the area of inspection resulting in ANSI Level II or III certification in one or more of the following fields is preferred: Electrical, Mechanical, I&C, Civil, Coatings.
– Technical training in the area of nondestructive testing resulting in Level II or Level III certification in the following fields is preferred: Visual Section XI, Visual Welding, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant inspection.
Background/Experience Requirements
Experience in using various NDE techniques resulting in Level II or higher certification is preferred.
Industrial site experience is preferred.
Nuclear power plant experience is desired.
