Description
Overall, this position will develop and support BI solutions involving:
Oracle and MS SqlServer : leveraging a proficient understanding of typical database concepts, table structures, procedural design, and performance tuning.
PowerBI and SSRS: connectivity, file structures, related scripting and formatting, typical design patterns.
Business Analysis: ability to ask probative questions (i.e. not just the obvious).
Data Analysis: identify metrics and reporting opportunities by using data beyond the original requested purpose
Troubleshooting: application of the scientific method when problem solving.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years SQL experience.
5+ years PowerBI experience, including 2 years of DAX scripting, as well as other Business Intelligence tools
5+ years of Oracle PL/Sql development.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS (preferred) OR equivalent combination of education and fulltime work experience will be considered.
Key Attributes:
Proficiency with standard business and analytical software
Proficiency with SQL and/or programming languages, such as R, Python and C
Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
Understanding and working knowledge of data modeling, data integration and visualization techniques
Experience with data management techniques to access, integrate, format, govern, analyze and visualize data from multiple internal and external sources
Able to build compelling dashboards, using data to “tell a story” to satisfy customer needs
Strong requirements analysis experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comprehensive consulting skills with proven ability to work with and influence others
Ability to build productive relationships and work in a fast-paced, competitive environment while handling multiple assignments
Continuous self-learner.
Identifies inadequate or inefficient systems and recommends new alternatives that improve efficiency or provide new benefits to the organization
Supports and reports on work plans and milestones for assigned projects and day to day activities
Evaluates and recommends approaches and strategies on deployment and application of the tools and technologies, and delivery of solution strategy, platforms, and applications
