Repair Shop Specialist – Power Delivery

Location : Forest Park, GA – Repair Shop

Candidate must live in or within commuting distance to Metro Atlanta OR be willing to quickly relocate.


This job will be filled in the Repair Shop Specialist family with emphasis on Power Delivery functions and activities. This job is to support the work activities at the Repair Shop in Forest Park. The work activities involve performing inspections, generating work orders, managing projects, communicating with vendors, coordinating field work, and supporting ITS. Good interpersonal skills are required to connect with apprentices, journeymen, peers, supervision, engineering, quality control, and management in an effective manner.


Educational Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Technical degree or certificate in relatable fields a plus.

  • 2 or 4 year college degree in relatable fields a plus.

Experience Requirements:

  • Related work experience in areas of maintaining records, managing projects, scheduling tasks, performing inspections are preferred.

  • Work related experience in the Transmission and Distribution industry a plus.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work with limited supervision

  • Ability to prioritize and manage concurrent projects

  • Basic computer skills –Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.

  • Knowledge / usage of MAXIMO a plus

  • Ability to follow procedures and guidelines to perform work in a safe manner.

  • Ability to work with others.

Job tasks will include the following:

  • Ability to coordinate field work for Distribution by receiving requests from the field while creating job packages and scheduling field support work.

  • Support ITS projects by resolving issues, generating reports, and answering billing questions.

  • Manage warranty repairs for Distribution pad mounts by initiating warranty work and monitoring progress.

  • Manage MAXIMO support for Distribution and Transmission Departments by generating work orders, assigning schedules, and purchase requests.

  • Liaison for Repair Shop Environmental affairs by managing records associated with equipment and oil, reviewing inspections, and conducting audits to ensure compliance with EPA / EPD.

  • Manage / support projects process improvement initiatives associated with Distribution and Transmission departments.

  • Support the Transmission & Distribution departments with input and assistance on developing procedures, guidelines, checklists, etc.

  • Support Georgia Power Company Power Delivery organization as well as the Georgia Integrated Transmission System, ITS.

  • Assist / support afterhours on-call rotation and schedule.

  • This position may also provide back-up opportunities in supervision and oversite for Distribution and Transmission departments.
