Building Maintenance Technician
Building Maintenance Technician– Gulfport, MS
Maintains and repairs office facility mechanical and electrical systems, fixtures and equipment.
Vocational/technical education and broad journeyman level experience in commercial HVAC systems operation, repair, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Universal refrigerant certification.
Comprehensive working knowledge of building trades including electrical, controls, plumbing, fitting, and welding.
General knowledge of construction and facilities operations.
Experience with commercial building equipment and fixtures including pumps, valves, motors, gear drives, operators and other apparatus.
Familiar with building codes and associated guidelines including EPA, ASHRAE, OSHA, NEC, NFPA and others.
Skills: Read and interpret schematics & engineering drawings; use of common and specialty hand tools including test equipment, welding/brazing; analytical & problem solving; multi-tasking; oral and written communications, planning and organizing.
Due to the nature of the work performed and the equipment utilized in this position, the successful candidate will need to:
Be able to lift at least 50 lbs
Weigh at or under 280 lbs (fully dressed with steel-toe boots)
Successful completion of the CAST pre-employment test is a requirement. If you meet the screening criteria, you will be notified via email with registration instructions.
Must be available for 24 hour 7 day emergency response.
Responds to building emergencies.
Essential in disaster preparation and recovery.
