Lineman/Apprentice Lineman - Transmission
This position will be filled at a Journeyman Lineman or Apprentice Lineman level depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is responsible for working with transmission line crews involved in the construction, maintenance and operation of transmission lines. This includes working with live 46kV transmission lines. This position is responsible for operating various types of cranes, bucket trucks and other heavy equipment and must be able to climb power poles when necessary.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Experience in transmission line work (setting poles, framing specifications, conductor identification, grounding specifications, etc.) is desired.
Completion of a Lineman Training Program is desired.
Ability to climb power poles is required.
Ability to operate transmission line construction/maintenance equipment.
Ability to utilize instruction manuals in the performance of work and to read, understand and follow directions, rules, regulations and procedures.
Must exhibit a positive attitude, understand and follow safety procedures, demonstrate effective communication skills (oral & written), possess effective customer relation skills and show initiative and leadership in work.
Must exhibit good interpersonal skills.
Must be a self-starter.
Must be able to work as part of a team and with other work groups as needed.
Class A driver’s license required.
There is extensive travel involved when working with our transmission crews.
Must be able to work off-road, in all climate conditions, in dirty working conditions and at significant heights above ground.
Must live within 30 minutes of the Hattiesburg Transmission Facility.
Must be willing to perform duties within and outside of the normal business hours as needed to maintain customer service.
Must be able to obtain Crane Certification.
This position requires successful completion of the CAST Pre-employment test. If you are selected for testing, you will be notified via E-Mail with registration instructions.
