Job Summary:
As Site Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing various operations to include fabrication, welding, sand blasting, painting, enclosure assembly, and mechanical assembly. Your primary focus will be on ensuring safety, product quality, cost control, prompt completion of operations, employee morale, employee engagement, and site security. Your leadership, coordination, collaboration, and communication with plant management and shift leadership will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, transparency, and achieving key performance metrics. This role will be responsible for monitoring production to ensure safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery. In addition, managing a team of cell leads, monitor capacity utilization, and promoting operational discipline are required. It will be your duty to ensure that the Method of Manufacturing and work instructions are followed and reviewed, with findings implemented in continuous improvement efforts. Directly managing the performance of each manufacturing cell, you will guide and direct their operational effectiveness using established KPIs and metrics.
Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):
GED or equivalent required.
4 or more years of supervisory or lead experience in a similar industry.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Experienced with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or IFS.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Green Belt certification is preferred.
Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment is preferred.
Ability to compile and analyze reports.
Strong understanding of parts fabrication, welding, assembly, and related processes.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
Proficiency in project management, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
Familiarity with quality control processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations manual, and written directions.
Ability to support a positive and motivating work environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and lead a team of workers engaged in parts fabrication, welding, sand blasting, painting, enclosure assembly, and mechanical assembly.
Prioritize safety as the top priority, enforcing all safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety awareness among team members.
Monitor and ensure product quality by implementing quality control processes, inspections, and adherence to established standards.
Strategically minimize labor hours and control costs by optimizing workflow, resource allocation, and process efficiency.
Drive on-time completion of operations by planning and coordinating tasks, setting realistic schedules, and managing unforeseen challenges.
Foster employee morale and engagement through effective communication, coaching, and recognition of accomplishments.
Collaborate with plant management, other supervisors, and department leads to ensure seamless workflow across shifts and operations.
Uphold site security measures by monitoring access, enforcing protocols, and responding to security incidents.
Prepare and maintain accurate reports on production progress, quality, safety incidents, and other relevant metrics.
Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to direct reports to support their growth and advancement within the company.
Efficiently passes down quality, safety, and improvement initiatives to cell leaders.
Understand production process and how it relates to schedule dates.
Monitor hour allotment to jobs and track/trend performance.
Interface with engineering to ensure clarifications are made quickly and clearly.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position will require standing, stooping, bending, and limited lifting of up to 50lbs.
Typical work environment will be conditioned space. Limited local travel may be required that will change the work environment. This is an active manufacturing setting; at times it will be noisy, and equipment will be moving.
