Renewable Site Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
The Renewable Site Manager is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for Operations and Maintenance activities for Southern Power’s wind facilities located in the midwestern United States. This role is responsible for a portfolio of facilities with a focus on safety leadership, employee development, compliance assurance, operational performance, maintenance strategy development and execution, and budget management. This position provides leadership in Southern Power's goals and initiatives and represents Southern Company in the external community. The Renewable Site Manager will oversee approximately 1,000 megawatts of renewable generation, with the potential for future growth.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 5 years generating plant experience required
Minimum 5 years supervisory/management of technical employees strongly preferred; management of remote employees a plus
High voltage electrical experience highly desired
Experience with Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) highly desired
Wind generation experience preferred
Experience with construction and/or start-up of a power plant highly desirable
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field, preferred
Capital and O&M budget experience with financial decision-making preferred
Project management experience preferred
Work experience using Maximo preferred
Working knowledge of electrical safety standards preferred
Effective written and oral communications skills required; Ability to effectively interface with a wide variety of internal & external audiences, community and media
Negotiating experience preferred
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership for all aspects of five wind facilities located in Oklahoma and Kansas.
Actively foster a positive and respectful work environment and an inclusive culture that invites a questioning attitude, open dialogue, and regular feedback.
Development of wind site managers and deputy site managers, to include technical training, leadership training and preparation for career growth.

Ensure facilities follow all compliance requirements and regulations.
As needed, serve as a backup to the site managers for on-site duties.
Proficiency in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) program, to include executing and releasing LOTO at any of the facilities as needed.
Work with site teams, asset managers, engineers, commercial team, M&D Center, and ROC to maintain peak performance of the facilities in accordance with PPAs, market requirements, etc.
Ensure high reliability of plant equipment through implementation of maintenance strategy (preventative maintenance), and effective outage planning and scheduling.
Identify opportunities to lead various projects in support of the overall renewables fleet.
Establish a strong and positive working relationship with the OEM teams supporting the facilities and support the site managers with decisions or issues involving the OEM.
Participate in Wind Operating Review Board (ORB).
Work with Budget Analysts to ensure facility budgets are being managed to support Southern Power’s financial goals.
Develop relationships and effectively communicate with customers, landowners and community leaders.
Lead and encourage efforts to support the communities we serve.
