Discipline Scheduler - Electrical (Plant Vogtle 3&4)

Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC), headquartered in Birmingham, AL, operates Southern Company's six nuclear reactors at three locations in Georgia and Alabama: two reactors at Plant Vogtle, near Waynesboro, GA; two reactors at Plant Hatch, near Baxley, GA; and two reactors at Plant Farley, near Dothan, AL. In addition, construction activities are underway for two new reactors at our Plant Vogtle location.

Discipline Scheduler - Electrical (Plant Vogtle 3&4))


The Discipline Scheduler is responsible for:

  • The development and control of the Discipline Schedules, including balancing the workload with available resources with emphasis on schedule consistency and workability, to meet T Week Milestones

  • Successfully maintaining accurate schedules throughout development and execution and updating and publishing the Discipline schedule as required



  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 5 years of NUCLEAR (commercial and/or Navy) power experience

  • Basic power plant system knowledge

  • Knowledge of scheduling software and how work is scheduled/performed

  • Knowledge of scheduling tools (PC and Mainframe based)


  • 5 years of experience as a Maintenance First Line Supervisor with 10 years of overall maintenance experience in the electrical discipline

  • Technical BS degree


  1. Coordinate, develop, and update discipline schedules to ensure an accurate product for use in effective planning, resource allocation, parts acquisition, and schedule execution

  2. Develop detailed, accurate, and usable schedules and reports to provide effective management tools for execution and feedback

  3. Attend scheduling meetings to ensure pre-planning, implementation, and schedule critiques are effective in developing continuous product improvement

  4. Assist in the development of work windows and contingency plans, by working with Work Week Managers, Cycle Managers, and Cycle Schedulers

Other Requirements:

  • The successful candidate must meet background screening and NRC Fitness for Duty requirements

  • Ability to fill an ERO position
