JOB SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate for the Project Manager for Operational Readiness position will lead Emergency planning process for TCC, which will include Blackstart procedures, Energy Emergency Alert (EEA), Load-shedding, Storm Restoration, Cyber-security, Physical-security, Nuclear LOOP, Business Continuity, etc. In addition, this PM will provide input into Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), Design Standards and drive the effort associated with Operational Strategies. This individual should possess an in-depth understanding of the complexities of the bulk power system and emergency planning, coupled with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects from conception to completion. Exceptional leadership skills are essential, as the role requires guiding cross-functional teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders to ensure that all operational readiness activities are executed flawlessly. The successful candidate will demonstrate an unwavering commitment to safety, reliability, and compliance, underpinning all project activities with these core values.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities )
Experience & Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree is required - Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering technology degree preferred.
5+ years of Transmission experience in three or more areas: Operations, Planning, Maintenance, Design, Construction, EMS, Operations Support, Protection & Control, Project Management, Resource Planning, Renewables.
Knowledge of modeling and power system analysis, T&D switching and clearance practices
Must meet all physical and cyber security requirements including participation in the Insider Threat Program.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Basic knowledge of bulk power system planning and operations.
Understanding of regulatory and industry standards affecting transmission operations.
Familiarity with emergency planning processes for transmission control centers, including Blackstart, EEA, Load-shedding, Storm Restoration, Cyber-security, Physical-security, Nuclear LOOP, and Business Continuity.
Effective communication skills with diverse stakeholders and the ability to build consensus and influence across organizations.
Strong relationship-building and team development skills, including active listening, patient coaching, mentoring, and fostering high-performing, inclusive teams.
Knowledge of transmission voltage systems (34.5kV and above) and construction practices.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with multi-discipline teams of engineers and analysts.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines, both on-site and in various work environments.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Emergency Planning and Preparedness:
Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency plans, including Blackstart, Energy Emergency Alerts (EEA), Load Shed, Storm Restoration, Cyber and Physical Security, Nuclear Loss of Offsite Power (LOOP), and Business Continuity.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure emergency plans are up-to-date and effective.
Conduct regular drills and simulations to test the efficacy of emergency plans and identify areas for improvement.
Provide real-time supp ort during emergency situations, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Operational Strategies and Compliance:
Develop and implement operational strategies, including Voltage/Reactive Planning and Congestion Management, to optimize system performance and reliability.
Ensure compliance with Emergency Operations Plans (EOP) and other relevant standards, including monitoring and reporting requirements.
Collaborate with Transmission Planning, Integrated Resource Plans (IRPs), and Design Standards teams to shape operational strategies and automated restoration processes.
Identify potential risks associated with operational strategies and develop mitigation plans.
- Team Leadership and Support:
Lead and support cross-functional teams to enhance operational readiness and emergency preparedness.
Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Coordinate with various teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and objectives.
Develop and implement training programs for operators and staff, ensuring they are well-prepared for emergency situations and operational challenges.
Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices across teams to continuously improve operational readiness.
